Microfiber laundering instructions
The manufacturer states that fabric softener clogs the fibres and reduces absorbency, that dryer sheets should be avoided, that drying should be low heat or air, and that towels should be separated by type so a wheel towel never reaches paint.

None needed. Follow the instructions from whoever made your towels, because blends and edge materials differ.

Griot’s Garage clay and prep method
The manufacturer's own method: short passes in a cross-hatch pattern, re-lubricate and wipe the clay face about every other panel and more often on heavily contaminated paint, and work top down so the dirtiest surfaces are cleaned last. Clay technique is what protects the paint, not the brand of clay.

Synthetic clay media last longer than traditional bars and are easier to keep clean. Either can mar paint if the lubrication or pressure is wrong.

Equipment manuals and paint care charts
The manufacturer publishes operating manuals, quick-start guides, paint care charts, and compatibility charts as PDFs. Machine polishing and extraction both have manual-level safety content that no article should replace.

Use the manual for the tool you actually own. This page states it does not host safety data sheets, so request the SDS for chemicals separately.

XPEL product care instructions
Film changes the wash rules. XPEL directs a 48-hour wait before washing after Ultimate Plus, Ultimate Fusion, or Stealth installation and 72 hours after Color PPF, keeping a pressure washer about 3 ft from paintwork and away from film edges, avoiding automatic tunnel washes, and using no unapproved solvents or abrasives.

If the film is another brand, use that installer's instructions. Ask the client what is installed before quoting, because film and tint care requirements can override your standard process.

Licenses, permits, and business insurance (SBA)
The SBA states that requirements and fees vary by business activity, location, and level of government, that states regulate more broadly than the federal government, and that some permits expire. It directs you to your Secretary of State to find what applies.

No substitute exists. Only the authority with jurisdiction over your work site can tell you what you need, and we cannot tell you from here. Pair this with the SBA insurance guide, which notes that insurance requirements also vary by state.

Self-employment tax basics (IRS)
The IRS states that you must file an income tax return if net self-employment earnings were $400 or more, that a sole proprietor reports on Schedule C (Form 1040), and that self-employment tax covers Social Security and Medicare.
Internal Revenue Service ↗Details for Self-employment tax basics (IRS)
None. Read the IRS estimated tax page too: it states that sole proprietors generally make estimated payments if they expect to owe $1,000 or more, across four payment periods with set due dates. A tax professional who knows your state is worth more than any calculator here.

Wash water and runoff guidance (EPA)
For home washing the EPA advises washing on a pervious surface such as grass or gravel rather than concrete or asphalt so water is filtered before reaching a water body, and using phosphate-free soap sparingly.

For paid or mobile work, local rules usually go further than this page. Check the municipality with jurisdiction over each work site, because storm drain, wastewater, and discharge rules are set locally.
