What goes on a detailing price list

A price list shows each service, what it includes, and a price for each vehicle size. Customers use it to pick a service before they message you. Keep it to one page. Three to five services and a short add-on list are enough for most small operators.

  • Services. Name each one by the result: maintenance wash, interior reset, full detail. Add one line on what is included.
  • Size columns. A truck or a third-row SUV takes longer than a small car. Separate columns keep that time in the price.
  • Add-ons. Work that only some cars need, such as pet hair or headlight restoration, gets its own price.
  • Terms. Deposit, cancellation, travel area, and how to pay.

Check every price before you publish it

Each price on the list must pass one check: it covers your time and costs for that job on that size of vehicle. Run each service through the pricing calculator with your own timed hours. If a price is below the calculator's minimum, the list fails. Raise the price or cut the work it includes.

Use “From” prices when condition changes the final price. Then say on the list what moves the price up. The maker adds a line about heavy soil, pet hair, and stains for that reason. Leave a size blank and the list shows “Ask” instead of a price.

Worked example

These are example inputs, not market rates. A full detail on a car takes 3.5 hours of hands-on time and 0.5 hours of travel and setup. At $45 an hour of owner pay, $16 in products, and a 3% card fee, the pricing calculator gives a minimum of about $202. A list price of $220 passes. A list price of $180 fails by about $22 per job.

The same detail on a full-size truck takes 4.5 hours in total. At the same pay and $20 in products, the minimum is about $229. A truck price of $290 passes. Copying the car price to the truck column would fail.

Where to use the price list

The image download is a PNG 1200 pixels wide and at least 1500 pixels tall. It fits a phone screen and a social post. Add it to your Google Business Profile photos, a Facebook or Instagram post, or a text reply to a new customer. Print or save as PDF for a sheet in the van or a handout. The spreadsheet file opens in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets if you want to edit it there.

Advertised prices must be accurate. The FTC's advertising guide for small businesses explains that ads must be truthful and claims must be backed up. Update the list when your prices change, and honor the prices it shows. Source reviewed October 13, 2026.

Questions

Is the price list maker free?

Yes. There is no account and no email. Your entries stay in this browser and are saved on this device only.

Should I list prices or ask customers to message for a quote?

A list with starting prices answers the first question every customer asks. Keep “Ask” for work you must see first, such as paint correction or odor removal.

Can I make a printable price sheet with more detail?

Yes. The car detailing price sheet guide has a blank PDF and spreadsheet with surcharges and terms. For a one-customer price, use the quote builder.
