Information stored on your device
The Setup Builder and Checklist Builder can store your selected services, budget, equipment choices, checklist progress, and notes in browser storage. We do not send these saved records to a server. They remain until you delete them or clear browser data. Clearing a form and deleting its saved copy are separate actions in the tools.
The site also stores an analytics choice when you save one. If browser storage is blocked or full, a tool shows that it could not save. An analytics choice can still apply for that visit.
Planning links and customer documents
When you move between setup, pricing, and payback tools, numeric planning values can appear in the page address. This lets the next tool receive the figures. That address can appear in browser history and hosting logs. These links exclude customer names and contact details.
The service menu and quote builder keeps document fields in the current page memory. It does not send them to our server, include them in analytics, or save them automatically. Copying, downloading, and printing a document puts a copy where you choose. Leaving or reloading the page clears the document fields.
Analytics
Google Analytics measures page and tool use only after you allow optional analytics. The tools work when you decline. Google Analytics can use cookies to distinguish visits and process browser and device details.
Allowed events can include the page path, tool name, calculation action, selected budget, and product source link. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments. Customer details, checklist notes, and complete saved records are excluded. Automatic interaction capture, session recording, and advertising personalization are off. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice and stop future analytics events. Google describes its processing in its privacy policy.
Hosting and technical logs
Vercel hosts the site. Delivering and protecting the site can involve ordinary request information, including an IP address, browser details, page address, and request time. Vercel describes its service data practices and customer responsibilities in its privacy policy. This technical processing is separate from optional product analytics.
External links
When you open a manufacturer, retailer, or other external link, that site receives an ordinary web request. Its own privacy policy applies. We do not control its cookies or other data collection.
Amazon paid links include a public tracking ID that identifies Detail Compass. Amazon uses the link to attribute qualifying purchases and may use cookies under its own privacy policy. These links do not include your calculator inputs, saved plans, or checklist notes.
Your choices
- Use every core tool without an account.
- Keep analytics off.
- Delete saved work in each tool or clear browser site data.
- Keep sensitive customer and payment information out of saved checklist notes. Use only the details needed for a quote, and store exported documents with care.
Changes to this notice
Detail Compass does not currently offer accounts, checkout, email subscriptions, advertising trackers, or cloud storage for plans. This notice will be updated before new data collection is introduced.
