DETAILING TOWEL-CARE CHECKLIST Checked 2026-10-06. Use actual towel, chemical, detergent and appliance instructions. SAFETY FIRST Exclude oil, fuel, solvents and unknown chemical contamination from routine laundry. Maytag W11755408A prohibits dryer use for items that have contained oil or flammable material, even after washing. Low heat does not remove this restriction. Check the product label and safety data sheet. Use their handling instructions. Ask the maker or local waste authority about unclear disposal. Do not assume air drying makes hazardous material safe. BATCH CHECK [ ] Task group recorded: paint/drying, glass, interior, wheels/dirty work, or hold. [ ] Wheel/engine towels remain outside the paint group permanently. [ ] Excluded residues held outside routine laundry under their handling instructions. [ ] Cotton and other lint-producing items excluded; like colors separated. [ ] New towels washed before first use. [ ] Towel, detergent and washer instructions permit the selected method. [ ] Detergent measured for the exact product and load; washer placement checked. [ ] No fabric softener; no dryer sheets. TRC towels: no chlorine bleach or ironing. [ ] Cycle/rinse completed without overload. Residue checked. [ ] Dryer use permitted by contamination history, towel label and dryer manual, or permitted hang drying selected. [ ] Towels fully dry; faces and edges inspected. [ ] Trapped debris, hard residue, damage and uncertain contamination excluded from released stock. [ ] Clean approved stock stored in a clean closed location by task. EXACT-PRODUCT EXAMPLE TRC FAQ specifies cold/warm washing for TRC microfiber, maximum 140 F (60 C). It allows low/no-heat tumble drying or hang drying when appliance safety permits. P&S Rags to Riches directions: 1 ounce for small/lightly soiled loads; 2 ounces for larger loads. Recheck the current bottle and machine. These are not universal doses. WORKED EXAMPLE (ALL COUNTS HYPOTHETICAL) Paint batch: 12 towels. Held after inspection: 2 towels with hard particles. Approved stock: 12 - 2 = 10 towels. Next job: 8 towels plus 2 replacement reserve towels = 10 required towels. Result: 10 - 10 = 0 spare beyond planned reserve. Count passes. If 1 more fails: approved stock 9; requirement 10; shortage 1. Count fails. Fix: add 1 inspected clean paint towel or change the job plan. Do not substitute a wheel towel.
